Each website built at CMA Webs is built with
four core principles in mind:
-
Usability
- Design
- Maintenance
- Customer Service
These principles combine to ensure your message is conveyed professionally
and consistently, always with your goals
and branding in mind. We don't just build
websites, we build relationships that we hope
will contribute to both your success and
ours.
A note on the CMA philosophy from
founder, Cheryl Alldredge…
In the early
1990s I was the Sales and Marketing
Director for a small technology firm
when the World Wide Web boomed into our
everyday lives. In a single year we went
from one shared internet connection for
the entire company to e-mail and
internet access on every desktop PC. It
seemed obvious to me that a technology
firm like ours needed a web presence if
we were to grow and thrive.
Eager to
tap into the power of the web, I
recruited a programmer from the
company’s engineering department and
together we built the company’s first
website. During those furiously busy
weeks, I learned two keys to
successful web crafting: usability and
design. These two important components
are still at the core of every website I
build. Over the years, that original
small website has grown to over a
hundred pages and has undergone several
major overhauls.
For
several years I left the care of that
site to others and when a hopelessly out
of date version of the site landed back
in my lap, I learned another important
lesson: maintenance. I think of web
maintenance as being a bit like combing
your hair. A salon cut is nice, but if
you don’t comb your hair routinely, you
still end up with a tangled mess.
Similarly, a beautiful, easy to use
website is worthless if the information
housed there is outdated, stale, or
simply wrong.
In 2004,
when I joined a local writers group, I
was amazed to hear from fellow writers
that they struggled to find reliable,
affordable web designers. A smart,
industry savvy group, they all
understood the important role a website
plays in promoting an author to fans and
industry professionals. Unfortunately, they routinely
hired a designer to set up a website
only to have the designer abandon them
when it came to maintaining the site.
Each of
these valuable lessons led me down the
path to launching CMA Webs. A web
crafting company that works closely with
each client and offers ongoing maintenance at
affordable rates. We also provide upfront
assistance with site transfers, so
you’ll feel confident the site will be
yours for the long term, regardless of
who you choose to maintain it.
